PASTEL/COLOUR INSPO

SPRING X SUMMER
PASTEL

VALENTINO-
the pastel pink frills along the bottom of the garment appeal to me as i like how they are short yet still give the top volume and shape.

APPLIQUE DETAIL

I want a design on my skirt with similar representation of the sun as this design links with the building i chose get inspiration from.

To recreate this design I've chosen to appliqué wool to my skirt with a zigzag stitch over it in a similar colour.

Final skirt colour ideas

I first experimented with darker colours like blacks but changed my mind when i chose the season i wanted my skirt to be based for as i feel black didn't really go with spring and was more of a autumnal/winter shade.

Ive chosen to base my skirt on Spring/Summer 2015.
As I've chosen this particular season i think pastel colors work the best for this, as they relate to easter colors, and spring.

JUMPSUIT DESIGNS

I've used adobe illistrator to create computer illustrated designs of different jumpsuits. I've also used paints and Pantone markers, creating block colour designs and multi coloured prints.

My designs are inspired by 70s and 80s fashion, I have incorperated block colour, floral designs, flared bell bottoms and bold colours to link to this.

JUMPSUIT INSPIRATION

Jumpsuit designs inspiration

I got my inspiration for my jumpsuit designs by looking up jumpsuits and 70s/80s jumpsuits on Pinterest.

I think the 70s and 80s are great years to be inspired by as there were a variety of colour trends, a lot of material and components were used and the styles were all very unique. Block colours, sequins, plain fabrics, silky fabrics and patterns were all popular.

The photos gave me Ida's on structer and also on my colour pallet. I choose to design more block colour garment designs as it was quite a popular colour scheme in the 80s.

I like the wide leg jumpsuit designs and for inspiration i have these photos of my nan in the late 70s with wide leg trousers in a block red colour.
