70S FASHION

Although the hippie look was very popular it was not worn by everyone. Many women still liked to dress up in1940s movie star glamour while other women wore simple casual fashions. In early 1970s trends for women included fitted blazers  long and short dresses, mini skirts and maxi gowns. Pastel colors were most commonly used for this style of clothing, such as mauve, peach, green, pink, yellow and white.

This is a photo of my nan in the early 70s, wearing a peach two pice, including a long dress and fitted blazer.
